Here is a brief biographical sketch of Linda’s life:

Linda was born June 14, 1955, and grew up in a small beach cottage at Three Tree Point in Southwest Seattle. Besides her dog and cat, she also played with her pet octopus and baby crabs.

In 1972, Linda came to Christ, the first in her family to do so. She was a hippie-free-spirit- beach girl, who came to church barefooted. She and Barney met at church, and were married June 23, 1973. Linda was eighteen, and Barney was twenty. One of the greatest blessings throughout her illness, was that they were able to celebrate their fiftieth anniversary.

From to 1976 to 1986, they served in ministry in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Their children, Josh and Tiffany, were born during that time. After Coeur d’Alene, they spent five years ministering in Roseburg, Oregon. In 1991, they began their ministry in Santa Rosa, California.

Linda redefined the word “passion.” She possessed strong feelings about nearly everything, and was the quintessential encourager, always looking for the best in others—whether someone living on the streets, in a recovery program, or sitting on a church pew. She inspired others with words such as, “You’re awesome;” “You’re amazing just the way you are;” and “God made you perfect.” Linda was Barney’s muse for writing and teaching. She was content to serve by Barney’s side, or in the background. Her non-judgmental, loving heart was contagious to everyone she met.

For twenty-eight years, she owned The Bird’s Nest, in Montgomery Village. Her number-one goal with the store was to minister to others. Linda loved decorating, creating new things, flowers, Christmas, her family, and Barney. Most of all, she loved Jesus.

Linda passed peacefully in her sleep on September 30, 2023. She leaves behind her husband, Barney; their children Josh and Tiffany; grandchildren Tesia, Kylie, Jeb, Oliver, Olive, Liam and Olin; great-grandchildren, Joel and Naya; father-in-law, Barney; sister-in-law, Priscilla, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
